All you need to know about our maps unique features
Hello Players,
With every new BATTLEGROUNDS map we create, we’re always looking for fun and unique elements to add. If you happen to come across the Emergency Landing Plane on Taego, the Train on Vikendi, or the Porter pickup, you know what we’re talking about. However, with so many new players on the Battlegrounds and so many maps being rotated in, we thought it would be a good opportunity to go over each map’s unique features. So, read on for all the info on the unique features you’ll find on our maps!
Erangel

Basic Info

Unique Features

- Erangel Ferries
- Ferries can carry passengers across the water from Southern Erangel to Sosnovka Island and back. There’s a total of 4 ferries that make round trips throughout the game for those of you not feeling lucky enough to yolo it across the bridge.
- Each Ferry will depart from the docks with the first phase of the Blue Zone.
- Once arriving at a dock, ferries will stay docked for approximately 20 seconds before taking to the sea en route to their destination.
- Ferries will sound a horn 7 secs prior to arrival and departure. Hop aboard!
Miramar

Unique Features

- Lynx AMR
- The Lynx AMR is PUBG’s first Anti-Materiel Rifle, a semi-automatic crate gun capable of damaging military equipment and armor, in addition to players and vehicles. Intended as a hard counter to vehicles, the Lynx is also effective in any situations you’d find yourself wanting to scope in and shoot down an enemy.
- PUBG’s first .50 caliber weapon
- The Lynx AMR is first and foremost the best anti-vehicle sniper rifle in the game, capable of destroying BRDMs and even penetrating the otherwise bulletproof windows to eliminate its occupants.
- Capable of destroying weak vehicles like motorcycles in a single shot and most regular vehicles in two or three shots.
- Players have only 10 shots, with no way to reload.
- Spawns in Care Packages only.

- The Quad
- The Quad is an off-road vehicle with four low-pressure tires and a driver seat designed to be straddled by the operator, with handlebars for steering control, with room on the back for a teammate. Modeled after a racing-style ATV, you can explore the Battlegrounds on this all-terrain monster we call the Quad.

- Maximum Speed: 110 km/h (125 km/h at maximum boost)
- Maximum Range: 24.4 km (18.5 km at maximum boost)

- Vending machines
- Vending machines are placed around Miramar to provide a new looting experience other than picking up items spawned on the floor.
- You can get Painkillers and Energy Drinks from Vending Machines.
- Vending machines spawn randomly at set locations.
- Locations: Arenas, Casino, gas stations, Motels and commercial buildings.
- If you’re lucky, Vending Machines can dispense many Energy Drinks at once.
- You must be careful when you use the vending machine as cover. The vending machine is protected by cutting-edge anti-theft technology, and any attempt to damage the machine may expose your location to the enemy!
- Vending machines are placed around Miramar to provide a new looting experience other than picking up items spawned on the floor.
Sanhok

Unique Features

- Train
- Trains can be found moving along multiple tracks across Vikendi.
- There is a major train line that extends along the perimeter of Vikendi, with multiple connected tracks towards the inland areas of the island.
- Trains stop temporarily at train stations across the map.
- Flashing traffic lights and unique arrival and departure sounds will alert you to arriving and departing trains at stations.
Karakin

Unique Features

- The Black Zone
- The Black Zone is designed to push players out of the safety of a building.
- The hazard is random: towns and compounds can be undamaged, totally flattened, and everything in between.
- The mix of buildings and ruins evolves in real time throughout the match: Meaning don’t always expect that building you run to for cover to be there late in the match.
- If you hear the siren, and you are inside that purple circle on the minimap- evacuate!

- Breach Points
- Certain walls and floors can be destroyed with sticky bombs and Panzerfausts making new breach points.

- This feature presents more tools for our players: For campers, it allows more sightlines/windows to be created.
- For squads going on the offensive, there are new options for storming buildings- “Do we blast in through the back of the building, or through the roof- maybe both?” the choice is yours!
- And for explorers, we’ve hidden many secret areas for those players with a spare Sticky Bomb or two, and a keen nose for loot.

- Bullet penetration on the weakest walls
- To make interior gunfights more interesting, Karakin has bullet penetration through its weakest walls. So if you’re getting brief glimpses of your rivals through damaged drywall, spray’em down and you might get lucky.
Paramo

Unique Features

- Dynamic Locations
- Major landmarks and parts of the terrain are relocated in every new session.
- Players must adapt and use suitable strategies and tactics according to the changes.

- Lava
- Several streams of lava flow from active volcanoes throughout Paramo, presenting a unique environmental hazard as you traverse across the map.
- Stepping foot in lava can lead to a quick death, dealing 10 damage per second to players, ticking every half second.
- Riding a Motorcycle into lava will destroy your tires and quickly begin to destroy the vehicle, whilst also dealing damage to the player.

- Helicopters
- Players will drop into the Battleground of Paramo from helicopters.
- During the match, these helicopters carry precious cargo across the map, with the plan of dropping it just outside the play area. Pay close attention and if you shoot enough rounds into a helicopter, you’ll force it to release the cargo early.

- Item boxes
- Item boxes can spawn in certain compounds.
- Destroy the boxes to find multiple pieces of loot, such as ammo, throwables, and healing items.
Haven

Unique Features

- Pillar Guards and Commanders
- Beware of Pillar, a rival faction offering an entirely different gameplay element compared to existing Battlegrounds. Guards and Commanders are distinct looking opposition that protects certain areas of the map, working as an additional factor you have to contend with while fighting against other players to claim the Chicken Dinner.
- Members of Pillar guard their respective areas and attack players on sight.
- Pillar Guards hold basic equipment while Pillar Commanders hold top-tier equipment.
- Once attacked, they send backup requests to Pillar Scout Helicopters which can then, in turn, alert the Pillar Tactical.
- Beware of Pillar, a rival faction offering an entirely different gameplay element compared to existing Battlegrounds. Guards and Commanders are distinct looking opposition that protects certain areas of the map, working as an additional factor you have to contend with while fighting against other players to claim the Chicken Dinner.

- Pillar Supply Cache
- The Pillar Supply Cache replaces care packages and requires cache keys to be looted.
- Players can gain cache keys from Commanders once they are defeated.
- Once the cache is opened, all players can approach the cache and loot it.

- Tracers
- Tracers highlight bullet rounds for increased visibility in the weather settings of Haven.
- Tracer rounds fire every 5th round.
- Sniper Rifles, DMRs, and Shotguns fire a Tracer every shot.
- VSS and MK14 have automatic fire; so, they fire tracers every first, last, and 5th bullet.
- Tracer rounds fire the last 5 shots for automatic weapons to indicate that they are running empty.
- Pillar uses Tracers.
- Pillar Tactical uses Tracers.
- Tracer rounds fire every 5th round.
- Tracers highlight bullet rounds for increased visibility in the weather settings of Haven.

- Pillar Scout Helicopter
- This helicopter roams the skies of Haven, detecting players hiding in open spaces.
- A spotlight is shone directly on detected players and their position is relayed directly to Pillar Tactical. Pillar Tactical that has received the information follow the Pillar Scout Helicopter’s spotlight and attack enemies nearby.

- Pillar Tactical
- This scary piece of equipment roams around Haven and attacks players on sight. The Pillar Tactical cannot be destroyed, so if you run into one, don’t try to fight it – just run away! This big beast even shoots firebombs to attack players hiding behind cover in front of it.
- Pillar Tactical communicates with other Pillars, responding to calls for backup and joining in on engagements.
Taego

Unique Features

- Comeback BR
- Comeback BR is a Taego exclusive second-chance mechanic allowing players who die during the first Blue Zone phase the chance to drop back into the fight later in the match.
Players who die during the first Blue Zone phase battle it out in the Comeback Arena, a location separate from the main Taego Battleground. Players who remain alive long enough in the Comeback Arena are transported by helicopter back to the Taego mainland in phase 3 to resume their fight for the Chicken Dinner.- Comeback BR is exclusive to Taego Duo and Squad matches.
- Players who die before the first Blue Zone phase ends are eligible and see a timer indicating when Comeback BR begins.
- At least one Duo or Squad member must be alive on the Battlegrounds for teammates to remain eligible to enter Comeback BR.
- All eligible participants are sent simultaneously to the Comeback Arena, separate from the main fight, and must find loot and items to stay alive, competing against other survivors.
- There are no bots or knockdowns in Comeback BR.
- Survive the timer indicated while fighting in the Comeback Arena, and you’ll be transported back to the Taego mainland via helicopter with all your items and gear to continue your fight for the Chicken Dinner.
- Players return to the battlegrounds when the phase two Bluezone starts to shrink
- While health and boost levels are reset upon returning to the fight, your kills and stats are still recorded.
- Comeback BR is a Taego exclusive second-chance mechanic allowing players who die during the first Blue Zone phase the chance to drop back into the fight later in the match.

- Self AED
- Similar to Comeback BR, the Self AED is another Taego exclusive second-chance mechanic, giving players another opportunity to stay in the fight. The Self AED is a world-loot item that allows players to revive themselves when DBNO, without the need of a teammate, and can be used in Solo and Squad matches.
- Press the interact button or click the Self AED in your inventory to activate the self-revive.
- Cannot be canceled once started.
- Cannot be used while already being revived by another teammate.
- Squads: The Self AED can be used even if your entire Squad is DBNO, as a teammate holding the Self AED prevents your Squad from being immediately eliminated.
- This gives you chance to self-revive and then revive your teammates.
- If the whole Squad remains DBNO, you will be eliminated once all players with a Self AED are killed.
- Solo: Having a Self AED allows you to enter DBNO instead of being instantly killed.
- Self AED uses are recorded as revives in your stats.
- Press the interact button or click the Self AED in your inventory to activate the self-revive.
- Similar to Comeback BR, the Self AED is another Taego exclusive second-chance mechanic, giving players another opportunity to stay in the fight. The Self AED is a world-loot item that allows players to revive themselves when DBNO, without the need of a teammate, and can be used in Solo and Squad matches.

- Multi Care Packages
- We’ve dramatically increased the number of Care Packages on Taego, through additional small airdrops, allowing more players the chance to hunt them down and loot them up.
When the situation is right, additional Care Packages can be used as hard cover to engage or retreat from your opponent.- Increased the number of Care Packages.
- Standard Care Packages: One
- Small Care Packages: 5 – 15
- Multi Care Package Contents
- Ammo, healing items, throwables. Standard Care Package spawn items can also be found inside, with low probability.
- Increased the number of Care Packages.
- We’ve dramatically increased the number of Care Packages on Taego, through additional small airdrops, allowing more players the chance to hunt them down and loot them up.

- Secret Rooms
- Secret Rooms can change the course of your match and help you win that Chicken Dinner. Top-tier gear, including items not found elsewhere on the playing fields, can be looted inside the secret room.
Hidden keys are scattered across Taego and can be looted, then used to access the Taego Secret Room.- How to enter the Secret Room
- After obtaining the key, you can open the secret room door and enter to loot items.
- Available items

- Emergency Landing
- A simple leisurely plane ride to the Battlegrounds? Maybe not so much.. stay alert and pay attention to the flight crew’s instructions, as not every flight is a smooth one. Engine failure can cause your plane to catch fire and come hurtling towards the ground while attempting to make an emergency landing.
- The emergency landing plane moves faster than the standard starting plane, but the fall height varies greatly, resulting in a varied falling duration.
- The farther you jump at the beginning of the flight, the farther you can travel. The later you jump off, the shorter you can travel, and like the plane, altitude decreases.
- If you decide not to jump off the plane, you’ll take 50% damage at the end of your journey.
- The emergency landing plane moves faster than the standard starting plane, but the fall height varies greatly, resulting in a varied falling duration.

- Porter and Trunk system
- The Porter is Hyundai Motor Company’s representative commercial truck, which was first introduced in 1977. Since then it has been carrying a lot of loads based on its solid basics and excellent durability. It is the only vehicle on PUBG available with the Trunk System, a new feature to be introduced below. Porter is a truck capable of carrying large loads and up to four passengers at the same time. Get your chicken dinner with the use of Porter which can easily run on any types of terrain with the support of the permanent four-wheel system!

- Trunk System is available and the capacity is 400

- With the Trunk System, you can maximize the acquisition of items for victory on Taego. Use the compartment of the Porter to load various items and take them out when needed. If the vehicle gets blown up, all the items in the compartment will also be destroyed. If you desire to keep your items safe, make sure your vehicle is safe!
- Any item that can be placed in your inventory and weapons, helmets, vests, backpacks can be loaded into the Trunk.
- However, due to the weight of weapons, helmets, vests, and bags, it may not be possible to load large quantities.
- Only available on Taego with Porter vehicles.
- The Trunk system can be accessed with the interaction key when not onboard. When onboard, it can be accessed by opening the inventory.
- All items in the compartment will be lost if the vehicle is destroyed.
- The compartment of the vehicle does not belong to one person. Anyone can load and take out items.
- Item weight depending on their types are as follows.
- When a weapon with attachments is placed in the trunk, attachment weight is added and loaded into the trunk with attachments attached.
- Any item that can be placed in your inventory and weapons, helmets, vests, backpacks can be loaded into the Trunk.

- Error Space
- Introducing the Error Space, this feature allows players to gather other map-exclusive weapons and supplies to be spawned randomly within these zones.
- Error Space zones are displayed randomly on the minimap and will be active until the end of the match, so make sure you head to the Error Space early so you don’t miss out!

- Bluezone Grenade
- This Bluezone Grenade can be used effectively if you want to deal damage in a broader area for a certain period of time. Especially in situations where you want to lure enemies out of a building. The Blue Zone Grenade creates a round blue zone with a maximum radius of ten meters, lasting for five seconds. It maintains its full size for five seconds, then decreases and disappears over another 5 seconds.
- The blue zone gets as big as ten meters in radius and lasts for five seconds.
- It remains in its full size for five seconds and then shrinks and disappears for another five seconds.
- It does not detonate underwater.
- When activated near water, it deals damage to players inside the water as well.
- Damage: 10/second
- If you are already in the Blue Zone and are in range of a Blue Zone Grenade, additional damage will be applied.
- Blue Zone + Blue Zone Grenade = Both damages apply
- Blue Zone Grenade + Blue Zone Grenade = Both damages apply

- Breakable Pots
- Various items are placed in Breakable Pots that are placed all over Taego. Break the pots to loot multiple items inside and lead the match to victory. However, be aware that the sound of breaking the pot may expose your location to enemies. You may break the pot by punching it, but a few shots with your gun can come in handy.
- Destroy the pots to find multiple pieces of loot, such as throwables, healing items and a unique Traditional Hanbok Hat.
- Various items are placed in Breakable Pots that are placed all over Taego. Break the pots to loot multiple items inside and lead the match to victory. However, be aware that the sound of breaking the pot may expose your location to enemies. You may break the pot by punching it, but a few shots with your gun can come in handy.
